After a tornado ripped through a railcar manufacturing plant, the customer called DH Pace to get them operational again. We were able to come out quickly to assess the situation and split the project into two phases. Phase one, an emergency phase, included replacing 15 rolling steel doors and openers for their maintenance building. This allowed them to start the process of getting back to business. Then we moved on to phase two where we replaced the remaining doors.
In all, there were 41 rolling steel doors and operators, three operators only, and one sheet door. The doors ranged in size from 12’ x 12’ to 20’ x 22’ with the majority being 20’ x 22’. The operators only were installed in buildings where the doors had been open and not damaged by the tornado, but the roof was torn off and the original operators were rained on. The manufacturer was glad to get back to business so quickly after the devastating damage.
