Project Description
PROBLEM
A city-owned wastewater treatment plant was using large 6’ x 12’ hollow metal entry doors but they were showing wear and not sealing the room well. In addition, areas of them were rusting and the hardware was outdated.
SOLUTION
DH Pace offered a solution of using a new type of door rather than simply replacing the existing doors. Instead of hollow metal doors, DH Pace reframed the door jambs with 8” flat steel and installed exterior mounted, motorized rolling doors at each of the two openings. Not only will the new doors be more energy efficient because they have a proper seal, but they are also insulated to further help with utility bills.
CONCLUSION
The end result is a cleaner look to the plant with easier operation for employees and lower utility bills.
